Judith “Judy” Rae O’Laughlin, age 82 of St. Jacob, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
Judy was born on March 24, 1940, in East St. Louis, IL to the late Robert Stevens and Lillian “Jean” (nee McLaughlin) Cunningham. She married Tommy O’Laughlin on January 13, 1962, and they had two children, Lori and Thomas “Chipper”.
She retired from Scott Air Force Base Hospital where she worked as a secretary. Judy was a member of Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville, delivered Meals on Wheels, and loved helping people. She never met a stranger. She loved to talk on the phone and babysit her great-grandkids. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Hubert Cunningham.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Tommy O’Laughlin; two children, Lori (Dennis) Daiber of St. Jacob, IL, and Thomas “Chipper” (Holly Bratton) O’Laughlin of Highland, IL; four grandchildren, Dawn (Bobby) Ross, Garret (Beth) Daiber, Brett (Susie) Daiber and Tori O’Laughlin; four great-grandchildren, Robby, Grace, Gunnar and Hudson; and two half-sisters, Mary Lou and Susie.
Visitation will be 3 – 7 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.
Funeral service will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. with Rev. Jim Robinson officiating.
Memorials may be made in her honor to Meals on Wheels or Meadow Heights Baptist Church and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
