Judith E. Edwards, née Hawthorne, 79, of Trenton, IL, born Saturday, July 14, 1945, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Evercare Skilled Nursing Facility in Lebanon, IL.
Judy was a kind and spirited soul who cherished life’s simple joys. Her love for animals was unparalleled, and she was a devoted caretaker to her beloved puppies-Pepper, Mooney, Gracie, Charlie, Jasper, and Lucy-who brought her endless comfort and joy.
Family was the heart of Judy’s life. She was happiest when surrounded by loved ones, sharing laughter and creating precious memories. Her vibrant spirit, infectious smile, and positive outlook brightened the lives of everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her:

- Parents: Lester L. and Jessie M. (née Shelton) Hawthorne
- Brother: Lester L. Hawthorne Jr.

Visitation: Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Rev. Bob Swickard. Interment will follow at O’Fallon City Cemetery in O’Fallon, IL.
