Judith Ann Diveley, 73, passed away at 8:50am on Thursday, February 9, 2012, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton. She was born on October 20, 1938, in Alton, Illinois the daughter of the late Velton Mallory and Mary Ann (Karpowicz) Swinney. She married Robert "Bob" Diveley on October 10, 1959, in Corinth, Mississippi and he survives. Other survivors include three daughters and two sons in law: Jennifer and Jim Smith of Roxana, Sally and Tim Mauzy of Eureka, Missouri, Ellen Shea and her fiance': Tom Brewer of Hazelwood, Missouri, one son and daughter in law: Robert Glen and Dawn Diveley of Roxana, five grandchildren: Mathew Smith, Emily Pechacek and her husband: Adam, Jessica Smith, Ashley Cox and her husband: Phil, Andrea Huber and her husband: Dave, one great grandson: Logan Cox, two brothers and sisters in law: David and Carolyn Swinney of San Antonio, Texas, Robert and Nancy Swinney of Alton, and many nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Roxana where she was a Sunday School teacher, a vacation Bible School teacher, and worked with missions. She loved flowers, gardening, sewing, cross stitching, and needle point.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 10:30am until time of funeral service at 1:30pm on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the funeral home. Rev. Roy Gibbs and Rev. Mike Stark will officiate. Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Roxana and will be accepted at the funeral home.
