Joyce F. Martin, nee Frisse, 82, of Glen Carbon, IL, born September 3, 1942, in Highland, IL, died Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Eden Village Retirement Center, Glen Carbon, IL.
Joyce had a sarcastic sense of humor, and she kept everyone on their toes with witty remarks and sometimes blunt responses. At a young age she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and courageously battled the disease for 60 years. In her younger years, she had worked for TWA (Trans World Airlines) and loved traveling.
Joyce also enjoyed singing in her church choir. Though dementia impacted her memory, she was quick to sing a song of praise during one of her final visits with family. She was loved and will be gravely missed, but we’re grateful that her mind and body are now made whole, and she’ll forever rest in the loving arms of Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Freemont and Lillian, nee Kraus, Frisse; a brother, Kevin Frisse; and a brother-in-law, Orville Kusterman.
Surviving are a daughter, Julie (Jacob) Adams, and their children, Kameron, Kaeden, Bryten, Bexley; a son, Ryan (Lauren) Martin, and their children, Reagan, Landon, Kennedi, and Quinn; two sisters, Bonnie (Stephen) Thiems and Jeanne Kusterman; and a sister-in-law, Sheree Frisse.

Burial will be at Grantfork UCC Cemetery, Grantfork, IL.
