Joyce Wild

Joyce Ann Wild, 89, died at 12:07 a.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at La Bella of Alton. Born November 8, 1935, in Alton, she was the daughter of Ephriam George and Viola Phoebe (Moran) Padden. She married Walter Lee Wild on May 31, 1975 in Belleville. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2001. Mrs. Wild was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. 

 She was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1308 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Zonta Woman’s Group. She retired as administrator of Eldercare Nursing Home and was currently working at Asbury Village as an assistant administrator. Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Farris of Godfrey, Cindy Eggebrecht (Larry) of Wentzville, MO, two sons, William “Butch” Weirich Jr. (Andrea) of Godfrey and Jeffrey A. Weirich (Pat) of Springfield, IL. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Travis Farris (Connie), Daniel Weirich (Jenna Stemm), Raylene Williams, Matthew Weirich (Jenny), Steven Williams, Laura Von Barr (Uriah Cole), Lee Ann Flatt, Lindsey Chel (Anthony Zachmann), Lucy Greene (David) and Leo Eggebrecht (Chelsie), 17 great grandchildren, Riley Farris, Sean Farris, Dwayne Farris, Chance Farris, Landon Weirich, Cameron Weirich, Jackson Weirich, Harrison Weirich, Sophie Bartoszkiewicz, Owen Bartoszkiewicz, Wyatt Kimball, Evett Flatt, Marigold Zachmann, Harrison Greene, Weston Greene, Mackenna Eggebrecht, and Madeline Eggebrecht and two great-great grandchildren, Tremison and Kinsley. 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Koshinski and two sons-in-law: Jack Farris and Richard Eggebrecht. 

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2024, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Father Steve Janoski will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church or Marquette Catholic High School. Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
