Joyce House

Joyce Ann House, 74, died peacefully with her family by her side at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.  Born March 28, 1937 in London, KY, she was the daughter of Arch and Mary Jeanette (McCarty) Baldwin.  She had formerly owned and operated, along with her husband, the Alton One Hour Cleaners in downtown Alton for 42 years.  She enjoyed her family and home.  On December 29, 1956 in London, KY, she married Dean Ford House.  He preceded her in death on December 13, 2005.  Surviving are four children, Connie Symsack of San Diego, CA,  Deanne Casciano and her husband Jim of Albuquerque, NM,  Jeffrey House and his wife Lisa of Elizabeth, CO, and Paige House of San Diego, CA, six grandchildren, Stephen and Erica Casciano, Alexandra, Miranda, Braden, and Avery House, and one sister, Eula Smith of Granite City.  She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.  There will be private family services.  Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.  Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
