Josephine “Jo” (Eichorn) Crivello, formerly of Alton, passed away on August 22, 2012 at Winchester House Nursing facility in Libertyville, Illinois at the age of 97. “Jo” moved to Grayslake, Illinois in November 2006 to reside with her family until January 2010 at which time she moved to Sunrise Assisting Living in Gurnee. In May of 2011, “Jo” moved to Winchester House. Josephine was the wife of the late Leo “Pip” Crivello and was the daughter of the late Matt and Mary (Finkledie) Eichorn. She is survived by her daughter, Monica (Michael) Nash of Grayslake, Illinois along with two grandchildren, Kelly and Kerri. Josephine is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband in 1999, two brothers, Frank and John Eichorn and three sisters, Ida (Anton) Mintert, Lucille (Charles) Caldwell and Mary (Louis) Cocozza. Josephine was retired from Alton Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide where she worked for thirteen years. Josephine was a very caring person with her patients and also with her late husband. She was voted employee of the month and later employee of the year, 1980-1981. Prior to working at Alton Memorial Hospital, Josephine worked at the Loretto Nursing Home in Alton. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home, 2409 State Street, Alton, Illinois. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 820 W. Homer Adams Parkway, Godfrey, Illinois with burial following at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Monsignor Virgil Mank will officiate. Memorials may be made to one’s choice.
