Joseph Pliemling Jr

Joseph L. Pliemling, Jr.,  80, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Greenville.

  Born July 28, 1931 in St. Louis, Mo., he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pliemling, Sr.

  He worked for Sealed Power as a machinist for 48 years, retiring in 1996.

  His first wife, Earline, preceded him in death in 1983.  He then married Carolyn Sue Harp Apr. 11, 1985.  She also preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 2009.

  A World War II Army veteran, he served with the 101st Airborne division.  He was a member of Bethel Pentecostal Church in Rosewood Heights.  In his spare time, he absolutely loved fishing.

  Survivors include three daughters, Barbara (Mike) Camerer of Greenville, Debbie (Todd) Clark of Alton, and Susan Frazier of Wood River; 2 sons, Gary Pate of Pontiac, Ill. and Kent Pliemling of East Alton; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.

  In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Brandon Pate.

  Visitation will be at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights Friday, Aug. 26 from 9 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m.  Greg Harp will officiate.

  Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
