Joseph Allred
Alton |
Joseph Brian Allred, 65, passed away at 1:14 p.m. on August 1, 2024, at home.
He was born in Alton, IL, to the late Donald B. and Betty (Leady) Allred on April 5, 1959.
Joe graduated Alton High School. Following graduation, Joe's careers included working for National Marine, Shell Oil Refinery, and as a laborer out of Laborer's Union #338.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Anthony and Lala (Dooley) Allred and Edward and Helen (Foval) Leady.
Joe is survived by his sister, Donna Konneker of Carlinville; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by countless friends and his friend, Richard Marberry, who took great care of Joe in his valiant fight.
Joe never met a stranger and was more than willing to share his sense of humor, and his inspiration with anyone he met. As his sister, I can assure you that his stories were true. If you have a moment he made you laugh or inspired you, I would love it if you jotted down your memories of him at his Celebration of Life.
Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey is entrusted with arrangements.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and place still to be decided.
For anyone wishing to make a donation in Joe's honor, please choose your favorite charity. Or, just perform a random act of kindness, because that is what Joe would have wanted.
