John Vohradsky

John "Jack" Joseph Vohradsky, 95, of Alton, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Jerseyville Community Hospital.

He was born in Edwardsville, IL, on October 12, 1929, the son of Joseph and Mary (Rozum) Vohradsky. Jack married Peggy J. Kassler in Cairo, IL, on May 5, 1950. She preceded him in death after 52 years of marriage, on July 6, 2002.

Jack is a United States Army Veteran. He served during the Korean War. He worked as a painter for CL Ackerman Painting Company before his retirement, and was a member of the Painter's Union, for 47 years. He enjoyed being outdoors and working in his garage. He loved to spend time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his siblings, Marie (Norman) Dubach of Highland and JoAnn Frisse of Edwardsville; a grandson, Todd (Jennifer) Sawyer of Bethalto; and four great-grandchildren, Zachary, Olivia, Peyton, and Hunter.

Along with his parents, and wife, Peggy, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Sandra Vohradsky and Connie Durham; an infant granddaughter, Kelsey Sawyer; and siblings, George, Agnes, Bernice, and Helen.

Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is entrusted with final arrangements.
