John Rickman, age 70, passed away at 2:30 am Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born on February 23, 1941 in Glenn Allen, MO the son of the late Edwin and Esther (Johnson) Rickman.
John married Rosemary Twitty on July 1, 1962 in Alton. She survives.
He was a machine operator for Owens Brockway Glass for 34 years. He liked the St. Louis Cardinals and fishing and was a great handyman. He enjoyed being with his family and friends as well.
He is survived by his wife Rosemary; one son Dwayne Rickman of Concord CA; one daughter Debbie and Rob Killebrew of Alton; six grandchildren, Michael, Cody and Dustin Rickman, and Zachary, Amanda, and Cpl. Christopher Mitchell USMC; two great grandchildren Ryleigh and Dean Rickman; two sisters Edna Shanky of Leesburg FL, and Darlene and Wally Link of Bethalto.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday September 9, 2011 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral Services will be private.
