John Moore

John O. Moore, 77, passed away at 2:30 pm Monday June 20, 2011 at home with his family by his side.

He was born on March 11, 1934 in Mirando City, TX the son of John D. & Grace (Ranft) Moore.

He married Frederica “Kika” Magliotti on March 31, 1970 in Saudi Arabia. She survives.

He served in the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Alton VFW Post 1308.  He was also a member of the American Legion and the Alton Motorboat Club.

He worked for the Tumpane Company Inc. in Saudi Arabia from 1969 until becoming a Vice President of the Company in 1981.  He worked at McDonnell Douglas/ Boeing Aircraft as a Radar Aviation Specialist until he retired in March 1999.

He is survived by a daughter Eve Moore of Alton; a son John J. Moore and his fiancé Colleen Boulds of Alton; three children, John D. Evans and his wife, Ruby of Port Aransas, TX; Grace Evans Littlefield and her husband Robert of Houston, TX; Dr. William Evans and his wife Tiffany of Hempstead, TX; four grandchildren: Robbie Littlefield and Amber, Ellesse and Aaron Evans and a cousin Marge Schulz of Luling, TX.  He is also survived by his fellow Buckaroos of Freer High School, TX; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jeannie (Franz) Moser of Austria, Marcelle (Guenther) Priestner of Austria; Jean-Claude (Marjan) Magliotti of London, United Kingdom, Silvio Magliotti.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother & sister-in-law William (BJ) and Wanda Moore and in-laws Joseph and Maria Rosa Magliotti.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Friday June 24, 2011 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Saturday June 25, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton with Fr. Nnamdi Moneme OMV celebrant.

Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery in Godfrey with full military rites by Alton VFW Post 1308.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church OMV Seminarians/Missions or Saint Anthony’s Hospice.
