John F. Hines, 70, passed away at 7:29pm on Monday, February 28, 2011, in Godfrey. He was born on June 26, 1940, in New Haven, Connecticut the son of the late John J. and Lucy (Schneider) Hines.
He married the former Lisa Price on January 31, 1984, in Houston, Texas and she survives. Other survivors include one daughter: Anna Hines of Alton, one son and daughter in law: Keith and Amy Salinas of Alton, two grandsons: Kyre Holoman, Izaa Salinas, two step grandchildren: Alaina Pestana and Alexis Sanders, one sister: Marilyn Faas of Orlando, Florida, one brother: Dr. Thomas Hines of Chesterfield, Missouri.
He was formerly employed at St. Charles Nissan and at Randy Blunt Auto Sales as a salesman. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. He enjoyed politics, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
