Joannita 'Jo' Allen, 83, died at 12:04 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at White Hall Nursing & Rehab. Born December 19, 1936, in Alton, she was the daughter of Charles and Anella (Clower) Allen. She was a bookkeeper for the Wedge Bank for seven years, and McDonnell Douglas for 10 years, and finally for Shell Oil Company for 15 years retiring in 1995.
She is survived by her good friend Ramona Scheibe of Alton and her sister, Betty 'Betsy' Bucher of Godfrey. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Charles Allen, and two sisters, Virginia Crouch and Jean Forsee. Private services will be held at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Father Steve Janoski will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
