Joann Lee "Jody" Zimmerman, 77, died at 12:50 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2012 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.Jody was born in Fieldon on July 9, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Ruby & Helen (Brueggemann) Miller.She graduated in 1953 from Jersey Community High School, and had worked as a bookkeeper for several establishements, inlcuding the State Bank of Jerseyville, Harold's Amusements and JCC Development all of Jerseyville.She was a member of the Ladies of the Elks, Westlake Country Club, and volunteered for countless organizations and charities throughout our area.Jody was formerly married to John "Jerry" Zimmerman, and together they were the parents of two children, Jayne and Michael.Surviving are her son & daughter in law, Michael & Ellen Zimmerman of O'Fallon, IL.; three granddaughters, Claire, Allison & Alexis; a brother & sister in law, Nelson "Heidi"  & Lotie Miller of Jerseyville; and a half sister, Glenda Stowers of Springfield.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two year old daughter, Jayne Zimmerman in 1968.Visitation will be from 4 p.m. Wednesday until time of funeral services at 6 p.m., at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.Burial will follow immediately at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.
