Joan "Maxine" Calhoon, 94, passed away at 5:07 am on Monday, February 3, 2025, in Opsrey, Florida.
She was born on May 23, 1930, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of John Arthur and Sarah Rowena (Brewer) Glatz.
She married Horace Newton "Buzz" Calhoon, and he preceded her in death on October 23, 1984.
Maxine is survived by three sons, Patrick M. (Kim) Calhoon of Sarasota, FL, Michael G. (Conery) Calhoon of Ft Collins, CO, Brian J. (Dawn) Calhoon of Edwardsville, IL, two daughters, Joan M. (Richard) Schwartz of Sarasota, FL, and Kristin A. (John) Zachodny of Sarasota, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Horace N. Calhoon; a daughter, Terri A Calhoon, and sons, Charles E. Calhoon, and Michael Kevin Calhoon.
A Mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church will take place on April 11, 2025 at 10 am. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Bethalto, IL.
Memorials are suggested to Cystic Fibrosis Gateway Chapter or Our Lady Queen of Peace.
