Jimmie Lee Aldrich, Sr., 75, passed away at 9:02 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2011 at his home. Born in East St. Louis, Ill., he was a son of Walter and Hilda (Idler) Aldrich. He and his wife, the former Patricia Rick, shared 56 years of marriage. The original founder of Reliable Stereo and Video, he proudly owned and operated the business for over 50 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Pam St. John of Alton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jim Aldrich, Jr. of Godfrey and Ronnie and Tammy Aldrich of Katie, Tex.; 6 grandchildren, Amy Zinkhon, Eric and Jason St. John, and Katie, Kasie and Chad Aldrich; 5 great-grandchildren, Grace, Lucas, Danielle, Elizabeth and Patrick; a sister, Barbara Wooden of Tennessee; and a brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Wilma Aldrich of Clearwater, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Lucille Wooden and Rhoda Favre.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Apr. 10 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, with a prayer service at 4 p.m.
Father James Flach will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday, Apr. 11 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Wood River.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
