Jimmie Dale Brown, 59, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011 near DeSoto, Mo. from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born June 16, 1951 in Mississippi County, Mo., he was the son of Gene and Francis (Hurley) Brown.
He worked as a truck driver for Thomas Industrial Coatings. An avid motorcyclist, he was especially enthusiastic for Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy D. Brown II and his wife Shawn of East Prairie, Mo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Candie and John Mann and Kim and Jay Shoppell, all of East Alton; 8 grandchildren, Kristopher Brown and his wife Amy, Alexander and Daniel Brown, Sylvia, Elizabeth and Seth Mann, and Shiloh and Autumn Shoppell; 3 sisters, Frankie Blom of Sikeston, Mo., Linda Porter of New Madrid, Mo., and Judy Harris of Jackson, Mo.; and 3 brothers, Gerald Brown of Sikeston, Mo., Glen Brown of Atlanta, Ga., and Charlie Brown of Jackson, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Carl Brown.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 2 at Paynic Home for Funerals in East Alton from 4 p.m. until memorial services begin at 7 p.m.
