Jerry O. Graham, 89, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011.  He was born on October 7, 1921 in Prairietown, Illinois, the son of John and Emma (Dustman) Graham.  He married Eileen Brennan on May 28, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Holyoke, MA. She survives.

Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1942-45 as a tail gunner on B-24’s completing over 50 combat missions over North Africa and Italy. After completing his military service he settled in Chicopee, MA until relocating his family to Bethalto, IL in 1963. He worked for the U.S Postal Service until his retirement in 1984. Jerry was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church and a 3rd Degree Knight with the Bethalto Knights of Columbus. He also was awarded a Life Time membership in the VFW.  Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, his beloved CUBs, but most of all, spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to Eileen, his wife of 65 years, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Marilee Graham of St. Louis and Jack and Dittra Graham of Birmingham, AL; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deb and Alan Martin of Las Vegas, NV and Doreen Graham and Larry Fountain of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one brother and three sisters-in-law, Clem and Alice Graham of Edwardsville, Betty Graham of Bethalto and Colleen Graham of St. Louis, MO; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ethel and Milton Gerstenecker of Edwardsville, Shirley and Don Lexow of Rosewood Heights and Doris O’Brien of Edwardsville and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John, Leo and Homer and sisters, Anne Karr and Agnes Eaker.

The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto.

A memorial Mass will be conducted at 11am on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto, IL with Father Tom Liebler officiating.
