Jennifer L. (Elledge) Elias, 47, died unexpectedly on November 2, 2023 at her home in Live Oak, Texas.  Jennifer was born in Alton on April 19, 1976, the daughter of Barbara (Schultz) Elledge of Godfrey and Gary Elledge of Greensboro, GA.  Along with her parents, she is survived by her husband, Ray Elias, a daughter, Jaela Boeve, a son, Jaxon Boeve all of Texas, a brother and sister-in-law, Brett and Jessica Elledge, nephew, Brayden Elledge and her niece, Makenna Elledge all of Wood River, and her step-brother, Jason Barnett of Clearwater, Florida.  She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousin.  Her funeral was held on November 12, 2023 in San Antonio, TX. 

Jenn attended schools in the Alton Community School District graduating from Alton High in 1994.  She received many academic honors and was a member of the Symphonic band, Pep band, and the Marching 100.  She attended Missouri State University playing her flute in the MS Pride Marching Band, flute ensembles, formed a music sorority, and formed many friendships with her sorority sisters.  She graduated in 1999 from Missouri State University with a BS in Spanish.  In 2010 she was accepted into the accelerated nursing program at Cox College and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree as a registered nurse.  She worked as a registered nurse at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, MO and after moving to San Antonio, TX in 2013, she worked as a registered nurse in the San Antonio hospitals.  Her last position was a rapid response nurse for specialty and transplants at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. 

She was deeply loved and respected by her fellow nurses, doctors, first responders, and patients for her medical expertise, compassion, beautiful smile, sense of humor, and caring at work and outside of work.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Wilbourn and Frances Schultz, her paternal grandparents, Lavern and Claire Elledge, and her step-mom, Joan Elledge.

Jennifer will be greatly missed by relatives, friends and all who knew and loved her.

A yearly scholarship has been set up in memory of Jennifer at Alton High School to be awarded to a graduating senior pursuing a career in nursing.  Donations towards the scholarship can be sent to: Barb Elledge, 5019 Castlegate Lane, Godfrey, IL 62035 or a charity of one’s choice.
