Jean Marie Gass, nee DeMange, 66, of Belleville, IL, born September 16, 1958, in East Saint Louis, IL, 1976 graduate of Althoff Catholic High School, died Saturday, February 1, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
A cornerstone of the DeMange family farm, Jean was known for her tireless work ethic, warm heart, and unwavering dedication to both her family and the farm. Jean was the heart and soul of her family, an extraordinary wife, mother, and grandmother whose love and devotion left behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and cherished memories that will forever fill their hearts. She found joy in scrapbooking, an occasional Pepsi, and the company of her four-legged companion, Momma Dog.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vincent DeMange.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Bernard Gass, whom she married on June 11, 1983; her mother, Shirley, nee Tojo, DeMange; her daughters, Jill (Fred) Luber and Jana Gass; her son, Jacob (Whitney) Gass; three grandchildren, Everleigh and Briggs Gass, and Grace Gass-Harris; a brother, Vincent (Lori) DeMange; two sisters, Debra (John) Hulliung and Chris (Tim) Abegg; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025, at St. Henry Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: A memorial mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025, at St. Henry Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Kenneth York officiating.
Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
