Jean Clark, age 98, of Fosterburg, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at her home with her family by her side.
Jean was born September 17, 1926 in Nettleton, AR, the daughter of Eddie and Annie (Davis) Whitfield. She married James Dalton Clark in 1949 in Piggott, AR, and he preceded her in death in 2017.
Jean was active in the 1st Southern Baptist Church of Forest Homes. She was an avid gardener. Jean painted many pictures. She was proud to have been a Red Hat Lady. Jean's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and raising her flowers.
Jean is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmie and Yvonne Clark of Shipman, and Steven Clark of Fosterburg; three grandchildren, Jason and Melissa Clark, Jordan Clark, and Nicholas Clark and his significant other, Emily Klinke; two great-grandchildren, Dalton Clark and Jack Clark; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Dalton, she is preceded in death by her parents; and a son, David.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Terry McKinzie officiating.
Burial will take place in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
