Jean Bilbruck, 82, gracefully left this life Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from her home in the company of her loving family.
The second of five children, she was born June 9, 1941, to William and Elizabeth (nee Smith) Aubrey, now deceased.
In February 1970, she married Oscar F. Bilbruck, and together they raised six children.
During much of her life she as a homemaker looking after the welfare and growth of her children, but to help make ends meet, she had worked at the former Bethalto Rexall and later at the Alton Pearle Vision Center, retiring in 2006. She was a faithful and longtime member of the East Alton Church of Christ and could spend countless hours playing Scrabble. She had a love of Florida, where they had lived the previous twelve years, and she was also very proud of her cobalt blue glass collection.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving children, daughters Sally (Kevin) Neill of West Point, IL, Pamela (William) Perkins of Meadowbrook, & Patricia Huffmaster of Brighton; and sons Paul (Rhonda) Bilbruck of Brighton, Frank (Phyllis) Bilbruck of Kansas City MO, and Lloyd (Brenda) Knight of Bethalto, along with 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Stella Yenne and Janet Silveus, both of Bethalto.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her older sister Teresa Albrecht, and her brother William Aubrey.
The family will hold a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the East Alton Church of Christ.
