Janie McCann, 61, passed away at 7:21 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at home after a short illness.
She was born on January 27, 1963, in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of the late Hubert and Violet (Gaither) Tanner.
Janie married David McCann on January 4, 2002, in Alton, IL. He survives.
In addition to her husband, David, she is survived by her daughter, Ashley Reed of Alton, IL; granddaughter, Rainey Reed; grandson, Xander Highsmith; step-son, Dustin (Danielle) McCann of Roxana, IL; step-granddaughter, Reese McCann; two sisters, Susie (Rick) Derleth of St. Jacob, IL, and Nancy Cox of Glen Carbon; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jimmy Tanner.
Janie's family will conduct a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at The Franchise in Wood River from 4 to 7 p.m.
Cremation rites will be accorded by Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
