Janice Watson, 77, passed away at 12:05am on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at University Nursing and Rehab in Edwardsville.
She was born on October 25, 1947, in Paducah, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Lawrence) Korte. She married Jim Watson on September 19, 1969, in Metropolis, Illinois, and he survives.
Other survivors include a son: Todd (Cindy Miller) Watson of Metropolis, Illinois, two daughters and sons in law: Jennifer and Rick McCall of Bloomingdale, Illinois, Jessica and Josh McDowell of Wood River, her grandchildren: Lyndsey Watson, Jon McCall, Rachel McCall, Luke McCall, Aubrey McCall, Ethan McDowell, Myah McDowell, a sister: Judith Watson of Metropolis, Illinois, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Janice sold Avon for over forty years. She was a member of the Christian Woman’s Club, enjoyed bowling, scrapbooking, and playing Bunco. She was an avid Roxana Shells fan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister in law: Jerry and Penny Korte, and a brother in law: David Watson.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 10am until time of funeral services at 12pm on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Pastor Tony Rangel will officiate. Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
