Janice L. Simmons, 76, passed away at 7:50 pm, Sunday, September 9, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center.
She was born in Alton, Illinois on January 31, 1936 the daughter of the late Arthur and Minerva (Day) Rousseau.
Janice was a member of Grace Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Retired Teachers and Delta Kappa Gamma.
She is survived by one son, Keith Herren of Alaska; one sister and spouse, Geraldine and Leslie Schwartz of Godfrey, IL; four grandchildren, Connor, Tessa, and Riley Herren, and Aydin Kendrick; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
A graveside service will be held at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey on Thursday September 13, 2012 at 11 am.
Memorials may be made to Grace Methodist Church.
