Janet Sessions
Alton | Save
On Jan 10, 1961, the clouds in heaven parted and a voice said, ?Look out Sessions family, here comes Janet!?
Some people come into our lives to be teachers, Janet is one of those special people.
She was born with several physical disabilities. Doctors said she would never walk, she did that and more. She loved water slides, the biggest ones in the Ozarks and Six Flags, jumping off diving boards, swimming, boating, and carnival rides.
She was especially fond of the Batman TV show, and the Joker was her ?boyfriend?. She loved to tease you by saying, ?What kind of a dirty trick do you think me and Joker could play on you?? She created a fantasy world to play in and our family tagged along.
She was also an artist, and some of her drawings are at Jacoby Arts. She had her own art studio at home. She loved to attend coloring class at Hayner Library.
She was fond of cats - but from a distance.
She was an avid movie goer, seeing many movies in a month.
She liked people and was interested in hearing their stories. If you met Janet, you would never forget her.
She was fiercely stubborn, very loyal, and NEVER EVER told a lie, she told you exactly what she thought.
She helped her sister take care of their mother.
She passed away peacefully Friday, December 22, 2018 at Alton Memorial Hospital, she was surrounded by her friends and family.
She was the daughter of Donald and Ellen (Duty) Sessions.
She is survived by her mother Ellen, her sister Joyce Kurz (John), a special friend Fred, two very close family friends Glenna Honey and Peach Cox, three nephews Donald, Matt, and Mike Clark, one niece Jessica Kurz ? Schmitz, two uncles, Fred Duty (Sandy) of Alton, IL and Bud Duty of Godfrey, IL, seven great nieces and nephews, and many beloved cousins.
