Janet Louise (Kanallakan) McCarry

JERSEYVILLE-  Janet Louise (Kanallakan) McCarry, 64, died suddenly at 2:05 p.m., Friday, November 23, 2012 in the emergency room at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville.She was born in Carrollton on June 12, 1948, the only child born to Laverne Frederick & Mary Louise (Hagen) Kanallakan.Janet was raised on the Hagen farm in Richwood Township in Jersey County, and graduated in 1966 from Jersey Community High School.She was a past member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #695, and the Ladies Auxillary of the American Legion Post 492 both of Jerseyville.  As an avid bowler, Janet participated for many years in various leagues.On Oct. 11, 1969 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church near Fieldon, Janet married Clifford Oren McCarry.  During their 43 years of marriage they have shared many good times and provided many wonderful memories to their many family and friends.  Together, they raised two daughters who survive along with their husbands, Amy Lynn & Micah Bandy of Savoy and Julie Ann & Terry Goheen of Dow.  She is also survived by her four beloved grandchildren, Benjamin William Oren Bandy, Grace Jean Louise Bandy, Paige Elizabeth Goheen and Cassie Renae Goheen.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her in laws, Doug & Janis Smith, Clifford McCarry; a brother in law, Dennis McCarry; and two nephews, Ryan Martin Vanausdoll and Kyle Adam Vanausdoll.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville with Father William Hembrow officiating.Burial will take place in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Jerseyville.In lieu of any flowers or plants, any acts of kindness in Janet's memory would be greatly appreciated in the form of a memorial to her family in care of the funeral home.
