Janele L. Ashburn, 29, died at 4:47 a.m. Sunday, June 15, 2014. She was born December 12, 1984 in Alton the daughter of John Ashburn of Granite City and the late Michele (Mackelden) Ashburn. She was a bartender at Cliffside in Godfrey. Janele was a very magnetic individual and was loved by many.
Along with her father, she is survived by two sons; Michael Goodey and Justin Goodey of Pahrump, NV, one brother; John Ashburn of Dow, one uncle; Philip Junior Mackelden II of Dow, her boyfriend; Jim Wheeler of Dow an aunt; Zoey Ashburn and numerous cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother; Michele Mackelden, and her grandparents; Philip Junior “Corky” and Helen Mackelden.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014. Reverend Andre’ Dobson will officiate. Burial will be at Grimes-Neely Cemetery in Jerseyville.
