Jane E. (nee Pistrui) Nevinger, age 91 of Collinsville, IL, born June 3, 1930, in Granite City, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 25, 2021, with her loving husband by her side.
Jane was a 1948 Collinsville High School graduate. She retired from McCormick Travel where she worked as a travel agent. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville and at one time sang in the choir. She had volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Jane enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and playing cards but most of all spending time with her large family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Craig Nevinger; parents, John and Christine Pistrui; and a brother, John Pistrui.
Surviving is her devoted husband of 72 years, Don Nevinger, who she married December 28, 1948; five children: Karen (Dan) Keeley of Prescott, AZ, Michael (Pamela) Nevinger of Venice, FL, Kim (Kevin) Kingsbury of Maryville, IL, Barbara (Steve) Klingler of Collinsville, IL and Beth (Andy) Limmer of Troy, IL; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill (Noreen) Pistrui of St. Louis, MO; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL, and 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 207 Vandalia, Collinsville, IL. Due to current state restrictions, masks are required to be worn.
Funeral mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, with Father John Beveridge celebrant. Private burial will be in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Collinsville, IL on Monday, November 1, 2021.
Memorials may be made in Jane’s honor to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church or Heartland Hospice and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
