James “Jim” Francis Taylor, 75, of Belleville, IL, born September 15, 1948, in Eldorado, IL, died Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

James served in United States Army from November 12, 1965 to November 8, 1968. Jim was a member of the 82nd Paratrooper division. During his service, he was awarded two Purple Hearts. He was a member of the O’Fallon Laborers Local 670 for 45 years. Jim loved to deer hunt and fish with his buddies. He never knew a stranger and always had a joke to Share.

Jim was preceded in death by his by his parents, John T. and Grace L., nee Lockley, Taylor; two sisters, Mildred M. (Jack) Fortner, and Shirley A. Holten; and four brothers, John T. Taylor Jr., Glenn L. Taylor, Willaim J. Taylor, and Charles E. Taylor.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Lee Taylor of Belleville; two brothers, Don (Debi) Taylor of Port Richey, FL and Ronald D. Taylor of Lakewood, CO; his sister, Beulah M. Turner of Herrin, IL; a brother-in-law, James J. Holten of Smithton, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Burial with military honors will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
