James Robert "Bob" Hazelip, 87, of Bunker Hill, IL, died at his son's residence in Dupo, IL on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 12:35 am.
He was born February 17, 1933, in East Alton, IL to James Lon Hazelip & Eucy Ruth (Perkinson) Hazelip.
He married Vera F. (Lowe) Hazelip on October 14, 1961 in East Alton, IL. She preceded him in death on March 16, 1997.
He was retired after having worked in maintenance for SIU, Edwardsville, IL. He was a veteran of the US Marines after having served during Korea. James was a member of the IL and MO Checker Association.
He is survived by his children, James F. (Sandy Garrison) Hazelip of Festus, MO, Christine (Brett) Meyer of Bunker Hill, IL, Timothy (Lori) Hazelip of Lampe, MO, Michael (Diana) Hazelip of Dupo, IL, Dodie (Matt) Drummond of Gillespie, IL, 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, sibling, Perl Hazelip of Collinsville, IL, several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, sons, Gregory Hazelip, Jeff Hazelip, siblings, Thomas Hazelip and Mary Ferris.
Friends may call on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Bunker Hill, IL from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.
Funeral services are Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Kravanya Funeral Home, Bunker Hill, IL at 1:00 pm with Rev. Ray Robinson officiating.
Burial will be at Bunker Hill Cemetery, Bunker Hill, IL. COVID 19 guidelines will be followed including mandatory masks.
