James L. Rowse
Alton | Sunday, May 8 2016
Born April 3, 1934, in Nebraska, James L. Rowse was a man of true character and a loving heart.
Jim graduated from Alton High School.
Jim enlisted in the US Army and served in the Korean War. While still in the service, he met the love of his life, Joan, at a USO function.
After Jim and Joan were married, Jim completed his electrical engineering degree at Kansas State University. Following a long career in the engineering field, he and Joan opened the Wolfe City Lumber yard where they served the community for many years.
A quiet charitable nature inspired Jim to participate in volunteer activities. One particularly special opportunity allowed him to drive cancer patients to treatments.
Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan, his daughters, Maryanne Baier (Dale), Dawn Willis (Mike), and Beth Wright
(Mark), and his grandchildren, Lindsey and Landon Willis, and Quanah, Dakota, and Zeb Wright.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Sunday, May 15, at 4pm at the First United Methodist Church in Wolfe City, Texas.
