James G. Bounds, 15, passed away at 10:40 pm on Thursday November 22, 2012, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Alton on October 26, 1997 the son of Theresa (Clayton) Bounds.
James was a member of Enjoy Church where he was a youth leader, as well as a media volunteer. His other passion was his membership in the Air Force Jr. ROTC of Alton High School, where he was a Flight Sergeant. He was also a member of the Air Force Jr. ROTC Sabre Team and Drill Team. James loved music, playing guitar, and joking.
He is survived by his mother; a sister Megan Bounds of Rockford, IL; maternal grandparents, Tammy and Rick McClain, of Alton and Jamie and Carole Clayton, of Grafton; paternal grandparents, Twana and Gene Harris, of Cottage Hills; aunts and uncles, Rick and Kelly McClain, Ryan McClain, Matt Rogers, Elizabeth Rogers, Jackie and Shaun McCann, and Kayla Colbert; great grandparents, Darrell and Carol Crotchett, Geraldine Hood, Jane McClain, and Jim “Don” and Mary Clayton; as well as numerous cousins
He was preceded in death by a great grandfather, Ivan McClain
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Tuesday November 27, 2012 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL.
Funeral service will be at 10 am Wednesday November 28, 2012 at Enjoy Church with Pastor Daren Carstens officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
