James Davis

James Vernon Davis, 97, of Litchfield, IL, passed away at Springfield Memorial Hospital, Springfield, IL on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 9:05 p.m.  He was born November 22, 1926, in Overland, MO to Robert & Ora Mae Davis.  He had various jobs in his adult career including working at Prairie Glove in Carlinville and the City of Doniphan, MO.  Mr. Davis was affiliated with Cornerstone Ministries in Litchfield, IL.  He enjoyed walking, swimming, reading the Bible, helping others in the time of need and spending time with family and friends.  He is survived by his daughters, Cathy (Randy) Miller of Taylorville, IL, Ruth Childers of Carlinville, IL, sons, Daniel, Roy and Jim Davis all of Carlinville, IL, 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, sister, Thelma Crider of Wellsville, MO and former wife, Carolyn Mills Bogue of Carlinville, IL.  James was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Marvin Davis, Robert Davis, Virgil Davis, Dave Davis and great-granddaughter, Alexis Miller.  Visitation will be on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.  Funeral services are Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie, IL.  Burial will be at Carlinville City Cemetery, Carlinville, IL.  Memorials are suggested to Cornerstone Ministries.  Anyone wishing to send an online condolence may do so at www.kravanyafuneral.com.  Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
