James Whitehead

James Darin Whitehead was born on March 27, 1970, to the late Rex Whitehead, II, and Naomi Jacobs in Burgaw, North Carolina. James graduated class of 1989 from Madison Senior High School, Madison, Illinois. He was on the basketball football and track team. He also coached basketball.  He continued his education by attending Lewis and Clark Community College, SWIC, and Vatterott College where he graduated with a degree in residential/commercial plumbing and gasoline installation,   which led him to own and operate his own contractual business. He returned to Vatterott as an instructor. James also attended Swift Trucking School and earned his CDL’s.  He was currently employed for 8  years at Scioto/Marsden, LLC at Amazon STL 4 in Edwardsville. Where he met his ray of sunshine, KaShauna Brown. They were married on May 4, 2019, and together they shared a blended family of 11 children. He loved to dance, watch anime, movies, play video games, watch sports with his mother, whom he loved dearly.  James was a hardcore Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In his early 20’s James accepted   Christ as his personal savior.  He was a  faithful member of Monroe Memorial Church under the leadership of Bishop Samuel White. He loved to hear his pastor preach, but he really enjoyed the choir.On November 20, 2021, James received eternal rest from his earthly labor. James was preceded in death by his father; son: Daushawn Whitehead, both maternal and fraternal grandparents; father-in-law: Walter Brown; brother-in-law: Kenneth   Brown, Sr, and Sister-in-law: Kimberly Sanders. James leaves to forever cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, KaShaun. Whitehead, his mother  Naomi Jacobs, his mother-in-law, Modiner Brown; his daughters: Mareayna (Arthur) Caine, Cherelle Jackson,  Anzaria  Simon, Ava Joelle(Malaya) Whitehead; his sons: Jacob Whitehead, Jason Whitehead, Johnathan Hollins, Armonta Williams, Antonio Simon, Antario Simon, and Antorres Simon; granddaughters: Trinity and Kira; his siblings:  Rex Alden (Jackie) Whitehead III, Tony(Katy) Ragsdale, Lawanda Ruffin, Jessica Whitehead, Shannon (Will) Gates; his sisters-in-law, Karla Boyd, Katrina (Michael) Scott, Kelly Brown and Kristain (Ron) Duncan; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, Madison Senior High School Class of 89 Classmates, Monroe Memorial Church family, and co-workers. Life celebration service will take place on Saturday, December 4, 2021, with visitation from 10:00 A.M until service at 11:00 A.M. at Monroe Memorial Church, 1901 BelleStreet, Alton, IL with Bishop Samuel White as the Eulogist.https://www.facebook.com/cathymwilliamsfh/
