James Barker Hubbard loving husband, father and grandfather flew away to be with the Lord on November 22, 2011 at 1:35 pm at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in St. Louis, MO on June 25, 1926 the son of the late John A. and Adeline Elizabeth (Barker) Hubbard.
James married Barbara J. Dilley, on June 24, 1955 in Alton, she survives.
James proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II. He was employed as an operator for 36 years at the Amoco Oil refinery in Wood River, Il.
In addition to his wife, he will be greatly missed by his two daughter’s; Debra and her spouse James McDonald of E. Alton, and Pamela and Doyle Eaken of Richland, MO. one grandson James (Bear) McDonald III and his wife Sylvia A. McDonald; one grand daughter Susise and her husband Bobby and one sister Virginia Hubbard of California.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers John Hubbard and Nelson Hubbard.
Per his wishes cremation rites will be accorded.
A memorial visitation will be on Saturday, Nov 26, 2011 from 10 am till time of service at 11 am at the Brown Street Baptist Church in Alton, with the Rev. David Burman officiating.
