James Michael Amsbury, 66, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away at 7:31 a.m. Tues. June 3, 2025 at his home while under hospice care and surrounded by his family.
He was born Sept. 5, 1958 in Benton, IL to the late John Henry and Wilma Louise (Berry) Amsbury.
On May 4, 1979, he married Debra D. Mayabb in Granite City. She survives.
James was an entrepreneurial Jack of All Trades and was a welder working for Chrysler and eventually retiring from Waste Management. He enjoyed going to the gym, camping, fishing, and barbecuing. James was a man of faith and treasured time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Debra, he is survived by 2 sons, Jimmy (Nikki) Amsbury, and Jerry (Katie) Amsbury, 3 grandchildren, Keller, Dean, and Eva, all of Edwardsville, a sister, Becky (Dan) Voss of CO, and a brother, Larry Amsbury of Mt. Vernon, IL.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Judy Vaughn, and Cynthia Sordiff, and a brother, Daniel Amsbury.
