Jacob Securo

Jacob L. Securo, 81, passed away at 4:30 pm Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. 

He was born on September 16, 1932 in Fairmont, West Virginia, the son of John B. and Elizabeth S. (Nandressy) Securo. 

Jacob served his country in the U. S. Army from 1953 until 1955 during the Korean War.  He was a machinery mechanic for Owens Illinois Glass for 37 years.   He was a member of Messiah Lutheran, the Alton VFW Post 1308, Alton Eagles 254 and the American Flint Glass Workers Union.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Ruby Securo of Middlerburg, FL; two daughters, Deena Peterson of Santa Maria, CA and Diane Hardison Securo of Valparaiso, IN; five grandchildren and their spouses, a sister, Bertha Fawcett of Arizona and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 9:30 am until services at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Rev. Tom Asbury, Chaplain of the VFW  officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with full military rites by Alton VFW Post 1308.

Memorials may be made to the Alton VFW Post 1308.
