Irma M. Pierce, 93 of Chatham, Illinois passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg, Illinois.
Irma was born on September 30, 1928, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois; the daughter of the late Clyde and Lorena (Tucker) Thomas. Irma was the owner of the Pierce Agency in Peoria, Illinois where she was a broker and an associate. Irma was of United Methodist faith and a graduate of Peoria Central High School class of 1946. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi and in her free time, she enjoyed her days of spending time with her family and friends.
Irma is survived by and will be missed by her daughter; Linda Peyla of Chatham, Illinois; grandchildren, Robert Scott Peyla, Jennifer and Andrew Rankin, Janis and Jonathan VanDurme, and many other close family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Irma was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years; Robert H. Pierce Jr.; son, Robert Dale Pierce; 2 grandchildren, Christy and Stephen; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
In celebration of Irma’s life, graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Friedens Cemetery, E. Center Street (Route 162) in Troy, Illinois with Pastor Linda Peyla officiating.
