Irma Rogers

Irma Jean Rogers, 79, passed away at 10:38 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2010 at her home.  Born Dec. 20, 1930 in Chicago, she was a daughter of Steve and Ima Jean (Tanner) Uhas.  She married Marvin Dale Rogers Jan. 15, 1948 in Hillsboro, Ill.  He passed away Apr. 16, 2004.  She retired in 1983 after 22 years as a nurse’s aide at Wood River Township Hospital.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Dottie Jean and Bud Caffrey of Granite City; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Dale and Roxanne Rogers of Alton; three grandchildren, Lisa, Bobby, and Krista Rogers; a great grandchild Devyn Rogers; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Darlene and Manny Roja and Carolyn Uhas, all of Bethalto.  She enjoyed spending time with all her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Robert Steve Rogers.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5 at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento, Ill.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
