Imogene Watson, age 83, passed away at 2:02 p.m. on Thursday, February 24. 2011 at her residence with her family by her side..

She was born in Alton, on November 27, 1927, the daughter of the late George and Lorene (Lagemann) Chappell.

She was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey, Il. She loved being active with her children and grand children. She was an active member of the Alton Eagles Lodge, and she enjoyed playing cards and games. She also spent many hours sending words of encouragement to our soldiers over seas.

Imogene is survived by two daughters; Pamela and her spouse Pete Menser of Cypress, TX, and Cindy Maker of Alton, Il. one son and his spouse; Chuck and Kim Watson of Houston, TX, and ten grandchildren; Jeana Brassett, Ron Scanlon, Pete Scanlon, Tom Menser, Richard Martines, Tamara Aldrich, Brian Watson, Keri DesAutels, and Carly Maderer, and eleven great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild, five sisters; Shirley and her spouse Earl Schmidt of Alton, Mildred and her spouse Bill Malson of Alton, Ruth Fowler of Simi Valley, CA, Sandra Vail of Alton, and Susan and her spouse Larry Yost of Alton, one brother; Michael and his spouse Mary Chappell, of Santa Anna, CA. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son Steven Watson who passed away in 2008.

Visitation will be from 11 am to 3 pm, Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.

Funeral Service will be at 11 am, Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey, Il  with the Rev Jerry MeCaskey officiating.

Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, Il.
