Hulda L. Geisen, 92, passed away Thursday May 30, 2013 at 4:19pm at Eunice Smith Nursing home in Alton.
She was born on February 7, 1921, in Delhi, IL, daughter of the late Alfred & Edith (Dependahl) Orban.
Hulda married Henry T. Geisen at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton on November 26, 1941. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2000.
She was employed at Owns IL Glass for 30 + years as a box maker, retiring in 1979. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she served on the altar society. She enjoyed bird watching, working outside, especially in her garden and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.
Hulda is survived by three children and their spouses, Bob & Fay Geisen of Carlinville, Sandy & Bill Thompson of Alton and Linda Geisen & Mike Mouser of Alton; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Kim Love, Tammy Carty, Dean & Susan Thompson, Derek Thompson, Missy & Emil Jones, Tracie & Jim Hyman, Dwayne & Billy Jo Mouser, Dawn Rice and Eric Mouser & Becky “Barney” Nash; twelve great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; four sisters and their spouses Verna & Eugene Lawrence of Bunker Hill, Janice Harper of East Alton, Elaine & Bob Miller of Pineville, LA and JoAnn & Paul Coonrod of Brighton; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Orban of Alton and Helen Orban of Alton, IL; one dear friend Debbie Lewey of Godfrey and many friends from the Alton VFW Post 1308.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Alfred Orban, Richard Orban, Walter Orban, Verla Valdes, Pauline Hills, Robert Orban and Helen Puskar.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral mass will be at 10 am on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bethalto.
