Howard "Gary" G. L. Williamson, 55, of Alton, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025.
He was born in Bloomington, IL, on October 31, 1969, the son of Howard Edmon and Joan A. (Heinz) Williamson.
Gary worked in the engineering department at Caterpillar as a designer. He was a member of 1st United Methodist Church in Peoria then later at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. He enjoyed cooking, whittling, jewelry making and listening to Classic Rock music.
Along with his mother, Joan of Jerseyville, he is survived by a sister, Denise (Candace) Williams of East Alton; a niece, Megan (Brandon) Meeks; a nephew, Jared Engelke; and four great-nieces and nephews, Noah, Gabe, Nora, and Nash.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard.
A private memorial service will be held on Friday , June 6, 2025 in Alton.
Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto has been entrusted with final wishes.
