Hildred Anthony Govan died on November 13, 2021. He was the oldest of three children born to the union of Willie Hildred and Marie Govan on February 24, 1958. Hildred confessed a Hope in Christ at an early age. He became a member of Canaan Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend C.C. Waters. Hildred received his education from Venice School District through high school. He went on to attend and graduate from Culinary Arts School. He had a love for food and serving others. Hildred was employed at Chesterfield Villas-Delmar Gardens for 31 years as The Chef Dietary Supervisor. When he wasn’t working, Hildred loved spending time with his family, traveling and joking with his uncles. His favorite past-time was playing the lottery. He never met a number he didn’t like. He was also fond of animals especially dogs and horses that had numbers on them.
Hildred was preceded in death by his sister Bertha Govan, Father Willie H. Govan, and Grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His Mother, Marie Govan of Madison, IL; Son, Anthony Govan of Kansas City, MO; Brother Venice (Tawanna) Govan of Maryville, IL; Aunts Jearline Fox of Alton, IL, Minnie Govan of Holly Springs, MS,. Uncles Dan Stinson (Pearlie) of Chicago, IL, Lee Andrew Stinson (Josephine) of Holly Springs, MS, Sylvester Stinson (Nora) of Holly Springs MS, Major Beard (Diane) of Memphis TN. Sharon Govan of Madison, IL; Bonus Son, Victor Fields of Madison, IL; Bonus Daughter, Staci Ramsey of Cordova, TN; Special Niece, Venise Govan and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
