Henry W. Hardwick, 84, passed away at 9:25 am Friday October 29, 2010 at home with his family by his side while under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.
He was born on September 6, 1926 in Greene County, IL the son of Henry Clinton & Gracie Mae (Watson) Hardwick.
He married the former Anita L. Noble on March 26, 1960 at the Methodist Church in Carrollton. She survives.
He was a veteran of the Army and farmed until he retired in 1988; he enjoyed puzzles, board games and loved being outdoors.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey & Marsha Hardwick, Jay and Leeann Hardwick and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Hall, five grandchildren and spouse; Tina Hall and Gina Hall, Tim Hardwick, Jeff Hardwick Jr. & Sarah and Andrew Hill; 11 great grandchildren, Sean, Zac, Ashley, and J.T. Adams, Phil Lough Jr., Chris, Zac, Anthony, Nick, Hayden, and Jolynn Hardwick.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Edward Hall, four sisters, and six brothers.
Visitation will be from 2 pm until time of Funeral Services at 6 pm Sunday October 31, 2010 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton with Rev. Dr. Glen Greenwood and Rev. John Hardwick officiating.
Cremation rites will follow.
