Harold F. “Mac” McBride, 90, died at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born February 5, 1921 in Alton, he was the son of Alex J. and Eva M. (Miller) McBride. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He retired from the U.S. Post Office as a mail carrier. Surviving is his wife, Janet (Rust) McBride of Alton, and a daughter, Dawn Woodrum of St. Louis, MO. Per his wishes there will be no services. Burial will be private at Alton Cemetery. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
