Gynese Slack

Gynese Slack “Mama Jennie” was born December 23, 1955, in Alton, Illinois. She was the daughter of Russell and Iola Slack. Gynese was educated in the Alton School District, graduating in 1973. She was employed in the Home Health field, caring for others in her special way. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of St. James Baptist Church. She had a very quiet spirit, enjoying reading, cooking, and caring for her family.On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, Ms. Gynese Slack fell asleep in the Lord at 11:32 a.m. at her home with her family at her side. She was blessed with sixty-six years.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John Henry; sister, Lavern Neal and brother, Ronnie Slack.She leaves to cherish loving and precious memories her sons, Phillip Henry and Jared Henry and daughter, Jerreen Henry all of Alton, IL; seven grandchildren, Davonta, LaResha, LaKesha, Xzavier, John and Aaliyah; sisters, Sandra (Rudolph) Singleton and Viviette (Vincent) Wallace both of Alton, IL and brother, Robert (Annette) Slack of Indianapolis, IN; aunts and uncle, Alice Mason, Linda Slack, Earlene Rogers and Herbert Slack and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Visitation Friday, June 3, 2022, from 11:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 P.M. at Cathy M.
