Gregory Ray Tingley, 64, of Edwardsville, Illinois passed away at St. Louis University Hospital at 6:34 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2024.
He was born on May 12, 1960, in Granite City, Illinois to the late Carroll “Nick” Tingley and Sandra K. (Fields) Schmied.
Greg loved to travel, was very creative and enjoyed making things for others. He never met a stranger and loved to tell a good story. He served in the United States Marine Corp and was self-employed.
He is survived by one son, Tyler (Theresa) Tingley of Ohio; three daughters, Ingrid (Jason) Duhr of Texas, Anna (Ray) Grindstaff of Illinois and Kristie Austin of Ohio; five grandchildren, Eva, Austin, Kyelynn, Mason and Braveri; his siblings, Teresa (Roy) Boyer and Penny Tingley; his stepmom, Frances Taylor; many nieces; nephews; cousins; other extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Tingley.
Greg’s wishes were to be cremated and to have no formal services.
