Golda Weber, age 85, passed away at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born on October 15, 1927, in Hardin, IL to the late Andrew and Mildred (Rhoady) Steward Sr.
She married Vernon Weber Sr. on July 31, 1946. He preceeded her in death on August 12, 2006.
Golda was a lifetime member and volunteer for over 50 years at the Salvation Army in Alton. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing video games being on facebook and animals.
She is survived by three daughters; Sandra and Bob Northway, Penny Weber and Kimberly Weber, four sons; Vernon (Bud) Weber Jr and his companion Linda Stewart, Frank and Beth Weber, Gary Weber, Randy and Barb Weber. Sixteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Six sisters; Annabel Hartley, Mildred Mellenthin, Natalee Hartley, Rose Daubman, Nancy Steward and Theresa Kelley, and her companion beloved bulldog Hambone Weber.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse and two sons; Donald Weber and Kevin Weber Sr., six grandchildren; Micheal Weber, Jayme Weber, Golda Huntsman, Samantha Huntsman, Andrew Weber and Kevin Weber JR, four deceased sisters; Lucy Steward, Martha Swarringin, Marie Steward and Jo Winsell and six deceased brothers; Otis, Andrew, Frank, George, James and Louis Steward.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Salvation Army in Alton, IL.
Funeral Service will be at 10 am, Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Salvation Army, with
Lt. Bryan Ellison and Lt. Teri Ellison officiating.
Burial will follow at the Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton, IL.
Memorials may be directed to the Alton Salvation Army Sunbeams or The Golda Weber Family for expenses.
